‘2009 IeSF Challenge(IeSF)’, the international official e-sports competition, will start in O2 Resort in Taebaek City, Gangwon-do, for 14 days from today while 150 participants from 20 countries participate in.
- The Official International Competition with 20 Countries’ participations
The Challenge as the world first official international e-sports competition will have fiery showdowns in three games including two official games, ‘Warcraft3(individual match)’, ‘FIFA Online2 (individual match)’, and one exhibition game ‘A.V.A(team standing)’.
Especially, the world top level players with impressive records including the winner of ‘2009 Asian WCG’, ‘2009 AIG NFG’, etc., and famous Korean players such as JaeYoun Jung, JooYoung Jung(FIFA Online2), HyungJoo Lee, DooSup Jang(Warcraft3), etc., will meet and play tight matches.
- Strengthen the Leadership for the International Standards and as the Original Nation of the e-Sports
A presentation for approval of new members and for the international e-sports standards will be introduced during the IeSF general meeting. Besides, there will be 2010 IeSF business plan and invitation the members for the e-sports establishment.
Also, the host brings a plan that cultivates the competition to be the Olympic of the e-sports in future by holding ‘the International e-Sports Challenge’ in every year from this year.
- “The Legend” Returns, and Many Attractions including Star’s Congratulatory Performance
Another attraction you can see from the challenge is ‘IeSF Star Invitational Classic’. The game which is called returning the legends will get attention of all international e-sports fans by the final match between JinHo Hong and YunYeol Lee in the Game Stadium, Dec 12th, 2009.
For the opening ceremony, Korean pop star girl group “4 Minute” and another Korean pop star boy group “2AM” will have congratulatory performances, and other events like fun game events, costume play and photo time, and pick-the 1st place country for the competition will be progressed. In the outdoors of the O2 Resort for the competition, the snow-ice sculpture theme park, ‘Snow Festival Field’, will be prepared for giving full of pleasures to visitors.
WonSeok Oh, a Secretary-general of the International e-sports Association, said “opening the IeSF will be an important step forward making the international e-sports standards” and “through the event, (I will) strive for expanding the membership of IeSF and make a way of an international coexistence for e-sports improvement”.
