When it comes to the CS:GO competitive terrain, the European region is by far the most organized and serves as a mass producer of talent and Esports athletes. It comes somewhat naturally, for this region to present the greatest threat to the World Esports throne, considering the fact that out of 24 teams in the competition, almost 50% belong to the European region.
Now, what comes with S-tier athletes is S-tier casters, and we’ve got the biggest names on our list. The formidable duo composed of Anders Blume and Neo Caine is on its way to bringing the CS:GO action to another level. The dream team. We’re about to witness a new moment in their careers also since none of them have been part of national competitions thus far.
Astralis, GODSENT, and Team NKT are only some of the names that appear across this year’s national rosters. Nobody is coming miles and miles away, to only participate and take a walk in the beautiful city of IASI, which actually is not a bad idea to do, considering the uniqueness and regional amenities, outside of the national competition. They’re coming to achieve something meaningful for themselves and their country. They are coming to write the newest CS:GO history of their motherland, and lay the path for future generations to reach and overpass these achievements. But somebody is coming to finish at the top, and we’ve selected a few names that belong to this category of competitors. So, who’s coming?
Erik “ztr” Gustafsson is born in 2003, an IGL rifler representing Sweden. Accurate and highly focused, the Swed is an unforgiving opponent, determined to uplift his national team straight to the top. We’re all aware of the genetic predispositions of the Scandinavians in big national competitions, and the seriousness they approach with. Another fact that might be interesting for you, he’s a temporary member of GODSENT, one of the top teams in the world.
Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen is another Scandinavian on our list of top contenders for the throne. Team Denmark being mirrored by team ASTRALIS Talent, is a statement by itself and doesn’t require too many explanations regarding their ambitions for the following WEC competitions. This 19-year-old is already 6 years deep into CS:GO competitive scene, and is solely focused on bringing the gold in Denmark.
Yesuntumur “nin9” Gantulga is taking us to a different part of the world. An emerging CS:GO powerhouse that is coming and sweeping everything in front of itself like a thunderstorm. This AWPer is born in 1998, with a pretty wide range of skills at his disposal, and is surely focused on correcting last year’s finals happening, when Mongolia was defeated by North Macedonia for the CS: GO World Esports Championship throne.
