Serbia won the title in Hearthstone and ranked the third place in League of Legends. These titles made Serbia to beranked at the first place in national ranking of the World Championship with total of 147 points. Korea rankedthe second place in national ranking bywinning the first place in League of Legends. China ranked the second place for both League of Legends and Starcraft II which made China totakethe third place innational ranking of the World Championship.
Meanwhile, officials from international sport society such as International Olympic Committee and Olympic Council of Asiavisited and observed the World Championship. They also attended ‘e-Sports Summit 2015’ on December 3rd which was hosted by IeSF. They have found more concrete possibilities and made one step closer for e-Sport to be a recognized sport. They also discussed the present and future matters of e-Sports at the conference. Byunghun Jun, the president of IeSF, held a luncheon withdignitaries, and requested them to lead and introduce e-Sports totheinternationalsport society beforehand.
Through the IeSF General Meeting on the 4th of December,4 countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Cambodia and Malaysia have been approved for the new member states of IeSF. IeSFsecuredthe full membership of Cambodia and Malaysiawhich have been recognized by National Sports Authority such as National Olympic Committee or Ministry of Sports. IeSFalso found more opportunities to broaden its business to South Americawith approval on the full membership of Argentina and Brazil.
Byunghun Jun, the president of IeSF said “Through the meeting with the officials from international sport society, I have felt that e-Sports have approached more as an official sport than I expected. Moreover, I have been advised by the officials from international sport societyabout necessary requirementsfor e-Sportsathlete such as welfare and strengthening cooperation with relevant organizations. IeSF will try to draw up roles as the sole international federation in e-Sports industry to develop e-Sports with all other e-Sports parties and willtry to host the international competition model continuously at the same time.”
