IeSF 2011 Torch Lightening Ceremony

The IeSF torch, which will lighten the IeSF 2011 World Championship, the e-sports festival for people all around the world, is blazing up. To celebrate the opening of IeSF 2011 World Championship, IeSF is hosting the IeSF 2011 Torch Lightening Ceremony at O2 Resort (Taebaek City, Korea) on August 11.
Taebaek City, as the host city of IeSF’s very first worldwide championship, ‘IeSF 2009 Challenge’, hosts the Torch Lightening Ceremony annually in order to commemorate the birth of IeSF World Championships and to officially announce the beginning of the Championship for the year. The torch lit from the Taebaek City will travel to all 25 member nations through online. Then, finally, it will arrive at the host city, Andong, Korea, on October 6, and will flame up itself at the opening ceremony.
On the day of the ceremony, some of programs for development of local e-sports infra at Taebaek City are also being conducted, such as local tournament of FIFA Online2, which is one of the official titles of IeSF 2011 World Championship, and invitational matches and events of professional e-sports team. Moreover, Signing ceremony for the Agreement between IeSF and ‘Gangwon Land’, which is composite entertainment company, will be held as well as other events, and ‘Gangwon Land ‘ is attempting the new leap forward to the world with cooperation of IeSF.
As putting the soul and spirit of the Olympics into e-sports, IeSF Torch Lightening and Relay represent much to competition with fairness and the harmony among countries. With delivering this spirit to all nations and participants, the IeSF 2011 World Championship surely will be the place for harmony and exchange where the whole world becomes as one with e-sports.
