Esports Federation of Slovenia – IESF’s Member Nation

To succeed in our mission to create a united World Esport we need really big support and the biggest support we get is from our 111 Member nations, national federations from all around the world!

It’s really important to show you who are our Member Nations!

Today we are presenting the Esports Federation of Slovenia!

When did you founded the federation?

Our federation was founded on the 12th of August 2020, so we are just over a year old.

Which games are most played in your country?

Most played games in our country are League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

In which games/Esports do you have a representation?

Sadly, this year for the second year in a row we don’t have a team or a representative in the World Cup. We got very close both years with the PES representative but the luck wasn’t on his side.

What is the average age of the players in the national team?

As we don’t have a representative for the World Cup it is hard for us to say what is the average age of the players in the national team. But the average age of the Esports player in Slovenia according to our data is 23 years.

How would you describe in one word the state of Esports in your country?

Developing.

How has the establishment of the federation helped Esports in your country?

Finally got together with most of the Esports parties in our country and started establishing Esports as a serious discipline. It also helped Esports get noticed as we started to act as a unified entity with a lot of members.

In what ways does the federation help Esports in your country?

It helps to promote Esports and spread awareness about them to the general public, which is, surprisingly to us, still not known as we would expect. It gives young people that join the clubs a sense of structure, seriousness, and stability.

What are your future plans for the federation?

We would like to establish a system that would help young talents to prosper, to succeed, to give them support on their path to Esports professionals. We plan to be an organization that would help other people working in Esports (casters, admins, and others) to have a chance to grow, to feel safe in the Esports environment and to have a guaranteed comfortable living from doing things they love.

What is your federation’s biggest achievement?

We are proud that with our limited resources we managed to complete our first national championship and that we are getting strong now into the second season. We are also extremely proud of the fact that our work allows us to give back to the community, through various Esports and charity events and that is most certainly a thing we will strive to expand even more in the near future.
