Approximately 500 participants registered 1st Entry for 8th WC

International e-Sports Federation (IeSF) hereby announces that total 479 participants from 37 countries have registered for 1st Entry of the 8the-Sports World Championship Jakarta 2016 (World Championship). 207 participants from 15 countries of Asia, 169 participants from 14 countries of Europe, 39 participants from 3 countries of America, 23 participants from 2 countries of Oceania, and 41 participants from 3 countries of Africa have registered in 1stEntry.

34 countries registered for League of Legends (LoL), 30 countries registered for Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), and 35 countries registered for Hearthstone(HS). South Africa registered a LoL team of 4 men and a woman.

The e-Sports World Championship is the only international e-Sports competition based on nationality. This year’s World Championship will be held together with TAFISA World Games. IeSF plans to portray, during the World Championship, the true values of e-Sports to flourish as content for sports for all and let all younger generation to enjoy. Becoming a part of Sport for all will also be of relevance in the recognition process of SportAccord and IOC.

The 2ndEntry which confirms final entry will be opened from 1st of July until 4th of September. During 2nd Entry, each National Federation conducts National Qualifier and finalizes the participation of national delegates. According to the performance of each National Federation and quality of national qualifying rounds, IeSF will be supporting 200,000 USD for athlete travel.

8the-Sports World Championships 2016 will be held from 6th to 9th of October this year, in Ancol Beach Auditorium, Jakarta, Indonesia.
