COMPETITION IN THE BOOKS AS ELIMINATION ROUNDS GET UNDERWAY

Tekken 7

The host country Korea faced a challenge in the Quarter Finals of the Tekken 7 Tournament, where Korea’s “Knee” faced off against the USA’s “Anakin” in a best-of-seven elimination match.

The crowd was charged as the fighters went back and forth. The American athlete was up 2-1 before “Knee”, playing as the Walking Dead character Neegan, was able to reel off 3 consecutive wins on route to a 4-2 victory for the host nation.

South Korea is joined in the Semi-Finals of the Tekken 7 Tournament by Finland, Japan and the Philippines. You can watch tomorrow’s Semi Finals streaming on the IESF’s Youtube Channel at 10:00am KST, and the Bronze Medal match and Finals will be streamed on the IESF’s Twitch channel at 5:00pm KST. DOTA 2

The DOTA 2 Tournament completed the Swiss-tournament preliminary rounds, which ended with the Philippines sitting atop the standings and receiving the first seed in the playoffs with a 5-0 record. The other three teams to make the playoffs were Finland, Thailand and Sweden, each finishing the Swiss-style preliminary rounds with a 4-1 record.

Semi-Finals matches saw Sweden defeat the Philippines 2-1, and Thailand defeat Finland 2-0. This set the stage for a Gold Medal Match between Thailand and Sweden, which is set to take place at 11:30am KST Saturday morning. The Bronze Medal match saw Finland defeat the Philippines 2-0, so congratulations to Finland for a strong performance in the DOTA 2 Tournament.

eFootball PES 2020

The nations to advance to the Quarter Finals in the eFootball PES 2020 tournament included Poland, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Macau China, Iran, and Serbia. At the time of writing this article, those Semi-Final matches had just been completed.

The first Quarter-Final match put Iran vs. Serbia, with Iran scratching out a 2 games to 1 victory. Macau, China then defeated Vietnam, also by a 2 games to 1 margin. Poland handed Costa Rica a loss in two straight games, and Japan also defeated Italy 2 games to 0, wrapping up the quarter finals and setting the stage for tomorrow’s Semi-Final matches.

The Semi-Finals, set for Saturday, December 14ths Semi-Final will see Iran face Macau, China at 11:00am KST, and Poland square off against Japan at 12:30pm KST. The Bronze Medal match and the Finals will both stream live starting at 3:00pm on the IESF’s Twitch channel.
