On last 30th of July, Hyundai Motors hosted the declaration ceremony for commencing ‘Hyundai Veloster HD’ national qualifier, which is test title of IeSF 2011 World Championship. ‘Hyundai Veloster HD’ is a mobile racing game application developed by Hyundai Motors as the very first time among automobile companies in Korea. The new concept of PUV (Premium Unique Vehicle) of Hyundai Motors, ‘Veloster’, has been adopted as the main theme of this game. With the elaborate and realistic graphic, it is characterized as realistic sense of driving. It supports both Retina display and HD, and is also available to be played through TV or monitor by using HDMI cable.
With this ceremony as the beginning, local preliminaries will be operated in 4 main cities of Korea for four weeks starting from August 20, and the final will be held in Seoul on September 17 with 16 winners from local preliminaries. 25,000,000 (KR) of total prize money will be offered including 10,000,000 (KR) prize for the winner. IeSF is hosting the national qualifier, and Korea Creative Contents Agency (KOCCA) is organizing the event. The executive director of Hyundai Motors said, “We hope many of players and fans to enjoy and experience Veloster through this event, and will spare no efforts upon successful hosting this event.”
The icon of Korean e-sports, Jinho Hong, participated in the ceremony, and met fans. A Korean comedian played against him, and provided fans a magnificent spectacle. Players from Korea e-Sports Association for the Disabled (KeSPAD) also attended the ceremony. Plus, popular girls idol group, ‘A-pink’ and other performing teams graced the occasion with their presence.
