IESF and ISSA sign a Memorandum of Understanding

The International Esports Federation and Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) have formalized a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The agreement paves the way for a strategic partnership between both organizations to develop Esports across the ISSA’s membership and was signed by the ISSA Secretary General Nasser Majali and IESF General Secretary Boban Totovski.

The ISSA and IESF have committed to supporting each other’s initiatives and fostering a culture of shared values within their respective networks. The two organizations will combine their joint efforts to organize educational programs, implement training resources, and create secure and fair competition environments for all participants.

ISSA Secretary General Nasser Majali said: “The ISSA is delighted to have signed this very important Memorandum of Understanding with the IESF. We recognize the huge popularity of Esports across our membership, and we are excited to work closely with the IESF on harnessing the power of Esports to bring people together and promote our shared values. We are confident that through this MoU, we can elevate Esports to new heights across the ISSA’s 57 members.”

Among the key areas of collaboration, the ISSA and IESF will work on strategic initiatives focused on combating doping, match-fixing, and promoting ethical practices in Esports. The MoU also includes commitments to promote inclusivity, integrity and sustainability within sports, ensuring that Esports continues to thrive as a platform for unity and positive impact across diverse communities.

IESF General Secretary Boban Totovski said: “This Memorandum of Understanding reflects the strong relationship and shared plans between the IESF and ISSA. Together, we aim to open doors to new initiatives and drive meaningful progress within our communities. Our commitment to supporting our members and advancing our shared vision is our main focus in this partnership.

The MoU also outlines Esports’ inclusion in the Islamic Solidarity Games, with the next edition being held in Riyadh in 2025.

The agreement between the ISSA and IESF initially runs until the end of 2028, and both organizations will seek to expand the scope of collaboration during this period.
