On 3rd day of December (Thu) at 6 PM (Korean Standard Time, GMT+9), e-Sports Summit 2015 is being held at the main stage of NEXON ARENA in Seoul, Korea. e-Sports Summit 2015 is designed as a panel discussion, and it is the very first attempt to have key people from international sports society and e-Sports industry at the same place and to talk about potential and future direction of e-Sports. IeSF, as the only international body connecting to both game and e-sports industry and international sports society, has designed this Summit and invited panels as using its networks.
Ms. Rita SUBOWO, former member of International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Executive Board member of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is attending as representing the opinion of international sports governing bodies. Ms. SUBOWO had an official meeting with Mr. Byung Hun JUN, the President of IeSF on last September, and expressed her enthusiasm toward e-Sports. At the meeting, she also addressed potential of e-Sports to be added to Asian Games and Asian Youth Games which are two biggest multi sports events hoted by OCA. Thus, it is expected that she will share the perspective of international sports society toward e-Sports.
Also, Mr. Patrick NALLY, the founder of “West Nally”, one of the world leading sports marketing group and the President of International Federation of Poker, and Dr. Andy MIAH working as IOC’s social media mentor have confirmed their presence. Mr. NALLY, widely acknowledged as the “Founding Father” of modern sports marketing and a principal pioneer of today’s sports business industry, has been working very closely with a lot of international sports authorities such as Sport Accord, IOC and FIFA. Dr. MIAH, as the professional scholar on future sports and social media, has been emphasizing that e-Sports can be one of the leading future sports for the culture of next generation on various media such as BBC. Both Mr. NALLY and Dr. MIAH have been supporting IeSF to have networks with international sports society through Sport Accord Convention since 2014.
Besides, as representing e-Sports industry, Mr. Silviu Stroie will be on the panel. Mr. STROIE is the Pesident of PGL and the Vice President of IeSF as representing Romanian e-Sports, and working closely with a lot of game and e-Sports parties such as Dreamhack as well as national sport authorities in Romania. Moreover, Mr. Seonwoo ‘INFILTRATION’ Lee, who was the champion of Ultra Street Fighter 4 at the 6th e-Sports World Championship Baku 2014, and is currently on the 2nd place of shoryuken Ranking will represent e-Sports players, and express the demands of e-Sports players.
There will also be key people attending and observing such discussion and the 7th e-Sports World Championship from international sports authorities who are directly influential on the mission of e-Sports to be recognized as an official sports, and will witness the potential of e-Sports.
