[IeSF Series]1. What is the condition and process to be member country

Agreement for international e-sports federation was made last Aug.

IeSF2010 grand final, the festival for vitalization of e-sports exchange and integrated progress of world-wide e-sports, opens on coming October 28th. With this opening of IeSF2010 grand final which is hosted by Korea and participated by international e-sports people like WCG, we introduce 8 series of reporting about IeSF joining process, the member countries and the activities of them. <Editors’ mention>
International e-Sports Federation(IeSF) is the world’s first e-sports international association which is begun by launch ceremony on August 11th in 2008 with 9 countries’ MOU signatures including Korea, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam. In order to be member of IeSF, the country should have an association representing it. Korea has KeSPA and Chinese Taipei has TeSL and Singapore has ESA.

However, the country cannot join only because of having the association. The association should have an ability to operate their country’s e-sports league and get an approval from government which representing the e-sports. With above 3 conditions, the association can submit the joining documents of IeSF and the IeSF goes through the process of verifying if the association is the relevant one with checking all the documents of member candidates. When the process is all over, the general meeting of IeSF decides if the country can be joined as a member country with all other existing members.

Curently, the member countries are, including Korea, 15 countries such as Germany, Austria, Vietnam, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Netherlands, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Rumania, Belgium, Spain, England and South Africa. Other 10 countries such as China, Brazil, Italy are waiting for joining approval from coming IeSF general meeting in October 2010.
