International organization for e-Sports to held General Meeting

The world’s first e-Sports international organization International e-Sports Federation(IeSF) is going to open its first founding general meeting and start its official activities at the Seoul’s Mayfield Hotel. IeSF, which has announced their foundation through MOU signing with institutions and representatives from 9 countries including Germany, Belgium, Vietnam at the Busan Nurimaru APEC House, will decide the organizational structure and future operating plans for the federation through this general meeting. For this general meeting, the chairman, vice-chairman, secretary-general will be designated as the main players, and others will include approval of official membership countries which participated at the MOU signing, and selecting officials.

Until now, according to the discussions made by the membership countries, the federation has the responsibilities of setting main policy directions. The chairman who will represent the federation domestically and abroad is likely to be the Korea e-Sports Association’s chairman Kim Shin-bae. If he is to be designated for the federation’s chairman, he will serve his role for 3 years. Also, it is likely that the office for IeSF will be located in Korea, through consensus among the membership country. Accordingly, South Korea as the homeland of e-Sports will set grounds as the leading hub for world’s e-Sports.

The IeSF will aggressively set forth it’s plans to globalize e-Sports through national discussions, and complete its structuring of organization and office through this first general meeting. Also, it will open the World e-Sports competition every year starting from next year, with participants from membership countries to junior membership countries.

In the meanwhile, other countries are going through the process of being the membership country of IeSF such as England and Spain. Japan and China will also officially join IeSF, so it is predicted that IeSF will lead the movement of establishing e-Sports global standards and globalizing e-Sports.
