International Esports Federation (IESF) has selected 10 candidates to participate in the first session of training at the International Esports Referee Academy in Busan, South Korea, set to begin on Monday, February 24th, 2020.
The 10 successful candidates, selected from a list of National Federation (NF) nominees submitted by the February 12th deadline, represent a big step forward for IESF and competitive international Esports, where standards and fairness are becoming increasingly important. IESF, national federations, the Busan IT Promotion Agency and the City of Busan all offer sincere congratulations and support for this first round of trainees.
The group headed to Busan includes Huseyn Nasirli and Faraj Nasirli of Azerbaijan, Arun Mishra of Nepal, Mohamad Darwish of Syria, Vorathep Theppongpech of Thailand, Niko Kristanto of Indonesia, Shann Danovielle Ramos of the Philippines, and Seon Woong Yoo and Byung Jae Min of Korea. While it is a diverse group representing nations from many parts of the world, Kozinets Evgeniia of Russia will be the sole female referee trainee. IESF and its partners hope to see more female nominees at future sessions!
International Esports Referee Academy is one of the three pillars of IESF’s Global Esports R&D Center in Busan, South Korea. With the continued support of the City of Busan and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA), the Global Esports R&D Center has been working to strengthen the esports ecosystem and foster the evolution of the industry since 2018.
