On June 17 2010, the Ambassador Pro-Am Charity hosted by International e-Sports Federation (IeSF) was held at the branch retail store of Swing Golf, Samsung-dong, Seoul. Ambassadors and representatives from 11 member nations and sponsors attended the worthwhile screen golf tournament for helping out the Haiti in need to recover from the disaster. The prize money of screen golf tournament, 20,000,000 won was donated to ‘UNICEF’ in the name of all participants.
This charity is sponsored by the ministry of culture, sports and tourism and organized by PAGANICA, screen golf Franchise Company in cooperation with other companies such as SK M&C, ASEA Union and The On. Won Suk Oh, the Secretary-General of International e-Sports Federation (IeSF) said that “Screen golf is virtual sport combined with high technology and real sports that everyone easily participates and enjoys. I think it is possible that screen golf could be the e-Sports titles in the future.” He also added “I expect that each participant can experience what virtual reality is and have new angle on e-Sports.”
After the tournament ended, most participants were pleased to join the screen golf
tournament where sports and virtual reality blended. The International e-Sport Federation will do its effort continuously to foster promising e-Sports titles in various fields.
