The Israeli Esports Championship 2021 gets underway

Following years of growth in Israeli Esports, Haifa City and the Israeli Gaming Channel announce the official 2021 Israeli National Esports Championships by the Israeli Esports Association.

As part of the collaboration, the championship will be produced offline, and the competition games will be conducted at the “Miller House” – the Center for Digital Communication and Innovation of the City of Haifa.

For the very first time, the championship will be broadcasted on TV live on the newly launched Israeli Gaming Channel (channel 66 on HOT).

The finals will be held over two days of special broadcasts with live audience from the Beat Club in Haifa, conducted in collaboration with Tiltan School of Game Design & Visual Communication.

This is the first edition of the national championships since 2017 to be conducted in front of a live audience.

This year’s edition of the championship will include competitions in eight (8) popular game titles, including: CS: GO, Valorant, Rocket League, Tekken 7, eFootball PES Series and others.

Winners of selected competitions will join the Israeli national team and participate in the IESF 13th World Championships in Eilat, Israel, hosted by the Israeli Esports Association and Maccabi World Union this November.

Ido Brosh, President, Israeli Esports Association: “After nearly two years of very challenging online Esports activity, I am super proud and excited for the unique collaboration that was created with Haifa City and the Gaming Channel. The 2021 National Championships promises to be the largest and best competitive Esports series in the history of the event, and we look forward to watching the broadcasts and finding out who will represent Israel in the World Championships. I congratulate the event’s Organizing Committee headed by Gil Ronen and thank our partners in Haifa City and the Gaming Channel for supporting the vision of the Championship. Good luck to all participants!”

Moshe Bachar, Director of Miller House and Community Communications at Haifa City: “Gaming and Esports has become very popular and important activity in recent years. Haifa City is the first city in Israel to realize the potential and lift the gauntlet to become the Gaming Capital of the Israeli north. We are pleased to host this year’s National Championships and welcome any gaming initiative to promote Esports in Israel.”
