By far the most anticipated competition in this year’s World Esports Championship. The game’s Asian origins and domination are at their highest peak, therefore, the dilemma is: can the rest of the world catch the fast Asian train?
According to the last available data, Indonesia is the country with the most MLBB players, being the ground where a fascinating base of 44 million players actively plays the game. They’re also last year’s gold medalists at WEC22 in Bali, performing flawlessly before their own people, justifying their favorite role and the fact that their selection for the national team is a bit more advantageous than the rest of the world.
The Philippines are the second country that stood up to the challenge, and make it to the WEC22 finals, a massive success undeniably, but not enough to bring the gold home. They are nurturing a thriving Esports scene, with Bren Esports leading the dance and being one of the global champions.
The rest of the national selections will have a hard time facing these giants, but there is always room for surprise. The Mobile Legends fever spreads through the rest of the world like wildfire, extracting talent even from the furthest place on earth, so at this moment, we’re left with nothing else than to wait a few more moments and see with our own eyes, what is the current status in the MLBB global esports scene. We’ll give you three reasons that support our saying:
Calvin “VYN” is a 23-year-old Indonesian, a member of Bigetron Alpha, and currently ranked as the #7 MLBB player in the world. A true hurricane, unstoppable when playing on his signature Franco, Kaya, or Lolita. There’s no discussion about his or his team’s ambitions, being a back-to-back IESF champion, and continuing the rich legacy of the country globally.
Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson is an 18-year-old Jungler, mastering his craft in one of the best teams in the world – AP. Bren. What is very interesting, he’s known as the fastest Fanny player in the MPL. He’s on his way to lead his team and reach the destination they were unable to last year, the World Esports Championship throne.
Ian “FwydChickn” Hohl, a 20-year-old American jumps out of the page with his skills and game mastery. Currently a member of BloodThirstyKings, he and his team will have a true challenge to compete with the Asian tigers. But as we mentioned earlier, we’re expecting a lot of surprises this year, and this is certainly one of them.
