The idea of creating a “Turkmenistan National Electronic Sports Federation” was adopted at the 5th Asian indoor games in 2017. At that time, eSports was presented as a demonstration sport and did not have a medal count. A year later, the Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of sports and youth policy, as well as the National Olympic Committee registered the “Turkmenistan National Esports Federation”, which was formed in order to develop and popularize e-sports in Turkmenistan as part of the international sports movement and prepare citizens for life in the information society.
